Update: 2025-11-26
Description
It's Thanksgiving week and we're ready to go over the latest in sports media news, ratings and more with host T.J. Rives and guest Steve Carney of our LWOS.com/media coverage on the "LWOS Media Podcast!"
The boys spend appropriate time talking Thanksgiving and working sports media jobs on Turkey Day and Steve has a tremendous story about the Thanksgiving spread while on the job for Tampa Bay Buccaneers radio in 2006.
They then discuss the new broadcast media deals for MLB, including ESPN getting back in the mix and NBC Sports/Peacock getting the Sunday night games and Netflix now in the mix, as well.
Next, there's lots on the football front both college and the NFL. This includes the massive rating and audience anticipated for CBS Sports and the Kansas City Chiefs playing at the Dallas Cowboys, as part of the tripleheader of pro games Thursday.
Also, the looming Ohio State at Michigan game is up for Saturday at noon on Fox Sports and what will likely be the biggest audience (by far) of the year in college football. The guys discuss that and go over the weekend of action in the final regular season of college football.
They also talk about how Warner Bros. Discovery has Turner Sports up for sale and if Skydance and Paramount acquire it, they will add massive more important sports TV properties to what they already have with the NFL, the NCAA tourney, the Masters, etc.
All of this is part of the "LWOS Media Podcast." Happy Thanksgiving and make sure to follow this feed on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!
